And I Thought that *I* Missed the Snow

It is snowing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana today, home of Ryan's clan.

According to my sister-in-law, Emily, the last time she saw snow there was in 1980, and they didn't get nearly the amount they've gotten today (2-4" is the best I can glean from weather.com).

I have never seen my in-laws so excited. I have gotten three text messages about snow today, two of which are picture messages, all with multiple exclamation points. I got an email with additional pictures of my niece Avalyn playing in the snow, posing next to her snow woman (not sure why a snow WOMAN should be headless - I will leave that one to Emily**).

It's fun and kind of hilarious to see all these grown-ups get so excited about precipitation. And I admit, I'm a little jealous. Okay, a lot jealous.

** Update: The first picture I had of the snow woman was confusing. It looked like a three-tiered creature who had lost its third tier. But then I saw the picture of her FROM THE FRONT!!! I have updated the photo, so cute! Avalyn discovered that you can draw on snow WITH CHALK! Thanks Em!
